In a 1961 farewell speech, President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned America about the growing influence of the “military-industrial complex.”

Vietnam-era demonstrators adopted Eisenhower’s warning as a verbal cudgel in an anti-war crusade featuring noisy chanting, e.g., “Hey, Hey! Ho, Ho! (fill in the blanks) has got to go!”

The seeds planted by the anti-war movement bore bitter fruit as subsequent generations of left-liberals created their own “complexes,” including a “movement” one might call a Climate-Industrial Complex (CIC) that is funded by statists in government who exploit “emergencies” to gather and centralize power.

The CIC’s central characteristics are fear-mongering, misinformation, greed and irrationality.

A recent article by Beatriz Monge-Sanz, an Oxford Senior Researcher who has “designed and taught courses on ‘Climate and Weather Prediction Models,’” claims that “Global warming may be behind an increase in the frequency and intensity of cold spells.”

Shocking, huh? And also incredible … as in “not credible.”

Fortunately, although they are seldom (OK, never) included in the “mainstream” climate discussion, there are highly credible, credentialed professionals and resources that cut through the madness, and provide information that unravels the grifters’ claims.

A friend recommended “Climate the Movie: The Cold Truth” … [as] a high-quality production that is entertaining, informative and sobering. Writer and director Martin Durkin, …has given voice to experts who have been vilified by a nasty climate industrial machine [the CIC] – some for decades.

“Among the film’s contributors are Dr. John Clauser, 2022 Nobel laureate in physics; Dr. William Happer, physics professor emeritus, Princeton University; and Dr. Patrick Moore, a co-founder of Greenpeace, who left that organization after it became radicalized.”

The 80-minute movie is available free online. It’s excellent. I’ve watched it. So should you.

Another resource that consistently provides essential context to the climatistas’ hyperbole is the CO2 Coalition (co2coalition.org). The Coalition’s board of directors and members include dozens of distinguished scholars and researchers.

Gregory Wrightstone, the Coalition’s Executive Director, has authored or co-authored more than 200 papers, publications and commentaries on climate change and energy. He has published two extraordinary, very readable books disputing the climate grift. His first, “Inconvenient Facts: The Science Al Gore Doesn’t Want You To Know,” was an Amazon bestseller. The second, recently published, is entitled, “A Very Convenient Warming: How Modest Warming and More CO2 Are Benefiting Humanity.”

Everyone should seek source materials that balance and challenge the climate “calamities” upon which grifters and their power-seeking government sponsors rely, then decide for themselves.

Wrightstone often refers to a fundamental tenet of English law: Audiatur et altera pars, or “Let both sides be fairly heard.”
