Semih İşbaş
Semih İşbaş holds a B.Sc. in Biology from Istanbul University and is currently pursuing an M.Sc. in Botany at the same institution. His academic focus spans plant ecophysiology, systematics, and the quantitative analysis of climate-vegetation interactions. Alongside his biological studies, he has developed strong expertise in Python programming for scientific applications, particularly in data-driven modeling and algorithmic analysis.
In 2023, he served as the primary Python developer in a doctoral research project that established a novel, non-invasive system for microcirculatory tissue oxygenation assessment under visible light. This project encompassed calibration-validation routines and in vivo experiments, demonstrating physiological insights beyond the reach of conventional clinical devices and opening avenues for integration into routine medical practice.
Semih is also the author of “Climate Change from the Perspective of Natural Processes,” published in Bilim ve Ütopya, where he critically examines the pitfalls of attributing complex climate dynamics solely to atmospheric CO₂ concentrations. He advocates for multi-factorial, empirically grounded models that integrate biological, geological, and oceanographic processes—emphasizing that CO₂ is not merely a climate variable but a fundamental substrate sustaining carbon-based life on Earth.
Beyond his scientific pursuits, Semih serves as an Education Director at Ataşehir Municipality, leading large-scale academic and community programs that reinforce evidence-based learning. He actively maintains research engagements and shares his scholarly contributions on Academia.edu:
