Matthew Schor

M.S. Nuclear Engineering

Matthew Schor started his career at General Electric’s Missile and Space Division, designing an orbital nuclear power reactor after graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Master of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Master of Business Administration from the George Washington University.

Schor has over 40 years' experience as an engineer and entrepreneur in the wireless sensor and tracking and the satellite manufacturing industries.

He founded SkyBitz, Inc., a leading provider of wireless tracking and fleet management. The company, founded on a research grant from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, was ranked #2 in the nation as the fastest-growing wireless company by Deloitte/CTIA.

Schor also founded Trojan Defense, a nuclear sensor network firm for homeland defense. He also designed thermal control systems for spacecraft using highly accurate computer modeling incorporating solar flux, Earth albedo, and infrared heat exchange. His spacecraft engineering included nuclear radiation effects on solar arrays and electronics. He provided technical oversight and management for the Clementine lunar observation mission sponsored by the Strategic Defense Initiative Organization.

He holds a number of patents in the satellite communications field.
