Brian Joondeph

MD, MPS

Dr. Joondeph completed his training as a retina surgeon in 1990 and has since worked in private practice and full-time academic ophthalmology. He graduated from Cornell University and Northwestern University Medical School, completed his ophthalmology training at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, and pursued a retina fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He has been in Denver since 2003 after returning from an academic position in Auckland, New Zealand. He is a partner in a large national retina-only practice and is based in the Denver area.

Dr. Joondeph has over 90 publications and has been a current and past investigator in multiple clinical trials. He holds a master’s degree in healthcare leadership from the University of Denver. Additionally, he serves as an examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Retina and Macula Societies member. Dr. Joondeph is widowed and has three adult children. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his family. His hobbies include skiing, golf, fitness, cooking, and travel.

As a writer, Dr. Joondeph has published over 1,100 articles, and he is a regular columnist for American Thinker and Rasmussen Reports. He covers many current events and political issues, including climate change.
