CO2 Coalition Multimedia & Outreach Associate

Description

The Multimedia & Outreach Associate reports to the Vice President, Marketing and Multimedia.  Due to the vast public reach, it is of utmost importance that the Multimedia & Outreach Associate has strong writing skills and is fully aligned with the Coalition’s mission and work.

This individual assists the Vice President, Marketing and Multimedia to:

  • Disseminate our media messages on select social media platforms
  • Add content to website including news items, papers, videos, and the like
  • Assist in the design of marketing communications campaigns
  • Assist in layout and design of our brochures, pamphlets, and research publications
  • Assist in CO2 Learning Center outreach to get our education materials to private schools, homeschools, public charter schools as well assist with CO2 Learning Center projects and prepare for conventions/events

Skills and Qualifications

Proficiency in the following areas is preferred, however a willingness to learn some programs is acceptable. Specific skills that all candidates should possess or have a willingness to learn include:

  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Outlook, & PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud programs
  • Experience with Canva
  • Experience with WordPress
  • Experience and expertise using many social media platforms, particularly X, Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn and Reddit
  • Previous successful experience in an office environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with team members, Board members and the public

Duties and responsibilities

Social Media and Website

  • Post and or schedule social media content as created by Vice President, Marketing and Multimedia to multiple platforms:
    • X (formerly Twitter)
    • Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
    • Reddit
    • LinkedIn
  • Assist in posting new publications to all platforms
  • Research other possible platforms and how to mass post our messages
  • Post content as assigned from the Vice President, Marketing and Multimedia to the CO2 Coalition website, to include member and staff published articles, publications, interviews and presentations, as well as relevant news items
  • Find attractive, copyright-free images to include as featured images for each post on the website as approved by the Vice President of Multimedia & Outreach
  • Assist in adding new members to website
  • Assist with projects that promote our message and mission

Publications

  • Assist in the formatting process all publications to ensure quality continuity
  • Assist in finding attractive cover images
  • Act as an additional reviewer of publication copy to identify typographical errors, etc.
  • Assist in adding publication PDF to our website and updating as requested
  • Promote publications on social media

Marketing/Merchandise

  • Assist the Vice President, Marketing and Multimedia to research potential marketing materials we can include in our store, at conventions, as well as for staff and other marketing purposes
  • Assist in the design and ordering of brand merchandise for the CO2 Coalition store

CO2 Learning Center

  • Assist the Vice President, Marketing and Multimedia in adding content to the CO2 Learning Center website
  • Assist in adding content to the CO2 Learning Center website
  • Assist with postcard mailing project and other outreach projects
  • Prepare/mail packets that introduce our CO2 Learning Center books and lesson plans as instructed by Vice President of Multimedia & Outreach
  • Research for places to advertise our materials with homeschool association magazines, websites and other organizations
  • Assist in mailing newly printed books to Education Committee Members
  • Assist in coordinating interviews for Education Committee Leadership on television and radio
  • Assist with creating content that communicates CO2 Learning Center mission and message as created by Vice President, Marketing and Multimedia to multiple platforms
  • Research other possible platforms and how to mass post our messages
  • Attend and exhibit at conferences when needed

Requirements

  •  1-3 years of experience
  • ·Alignment with and passion for the Coalition’s mission and work
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but other certification and experience is
  • Proven track record of successful teamwork and interaction with superiors
  • Solid skills in organization and record-keeping
  • Occasional travel outside of the Washington D.C. area is expected
  • Duties are typically conducted during normal business hours (M-F 9-5) though some occasions may require duties to be accomplished beyond these hours

Compensation

This position is structured as a full-time position with benefits. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Benefits include:

The office dress code is business casual, but a few appointments may require formal business attire.
