Farming Career: Dairy and beef farming, 300 dairy cows and 400 bull beef at Karamea, West Coast and later 700 X 3 herds dairy cows at Inniskillen, Culverdon, Canterbury. Introduced new farming techniques including block grazing of dairy stock, overhead irrigation, intensive dairy bull beef raising, new fertilizer mixes, cost reduction methods.
