Claudiu Saftoiu

B.S. Computer Science

Claudiu Saftoiu graduated with honors from Brown University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. He works in the private sector, with several years of experience applying artificial intelligence techniques to solve complex business problems.

Claudiu has always valued facts and sensibility above all else, even when they contradict prevailing norms. He was horrified when he learned about Sri Lanka's ban on synthetic fertilizers in 2021—a move praised by climate activists seeking to reduce emissions and promote sustainability, yet which had predictably catastrophic consequences, decimating their economy and nearly leading to mass starvation. This experience led him to question the ostensibly solid scientific foundation behind claims about humanity's impact on the climate, particularly due to the oppressive-feeling atmosphere that appeared to coalesce wherever people of the world voiced their doubts about mainstream climate narratives and policies that seemed likely to harm human prosperity.

Claudiu considers the scientific method of empirical and thorough experimentation to be paramount and believes that any climate policy should be based on solid evidence of this highest standard, which elaborate large-scale computer simulations do not reach. He understands that a theory must be falsifiable to be scientific, and has become highly suspicious of mainstream reporting on climate change, which appears to indicate that any type of weather event, whether hot or cold, rain or drought, snow or lack thereof is further evidence of impending catastrophe.
